Third Africa Regional Meeting on Development Effectiveness
The Third Africa Regional Meeting on Development Effectiveness (28-30 September 2011) produced for the first time an African Consensus and Position on Development Effectiveness: Aid Reform for Africa's Development, which calls on Africa’s development partners to align their support to the Continent’s priorities, and ensure that aid complements domestic financing and other alternative sources for effective development; and on African countries to scale up policies that look beyond aid through effective and innovative use of domestic resources and development of appropriate implementing capacities, with the private sector playing a key role. For further details, please see the Consensus and Position document available in English and in French.
